The following are welcome to apply for membership in the
American Society of Podiatric Surgeons (ASPS).
Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs), podiatric medical residents, fellows, and students, or licensed Medical Doctors (MDs), Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs), and international practitioners who actively participate in foot and ankle surgery.
Fellow / A licensed DPM with active surgical privileges at an accredited healthcare facility and certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) or the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM)
Associate / A licensed DPM with active surgical privileges at an accredited healthcare facility and qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) or the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM)
Affiliate / A licensed DPM, MD, DO, or international practitioner and actively practices foot and ankle surgery
Young Professional / A licensed DPM in practice less than 5 years
Emeritus / An ASPS Fellow at least 65 years of age practicing less than 20 hours per week or fully retired
Resident / A DPM resident or fellow in a CPME approved program
Student / A student enrolled in a CPME approved podiatric medical college
